SSC Exam Calendar 2026-27 Revised: Check Exam Dates for SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS & GD

The Staff Selection Commission has revised its exam calendar for 2026-27, giving lakhs of government job aspirants a fresh timeline for some of the country’s most competitive recruitment exams. SSC shared the updated calendar on its official X account on March 16, 2026, and the official examination calendar page now reflects the tentative schedule for the new cycle.

For candidates preparing for SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS, and GD Constable, this revised calendar is important because it helps in planning preparation, revision strategy, and application timelines well in advance. Since these are tentative dates, candidates should still keep checking the SSC website for detailed notifications and any further changes, but the revised calendar offers a strong roadmap for the months ahead.

According to the updated schedule, the SSC CGL 2026 notification is expected in March 2026, with the application window running into April 2026, while the Tier-I Computer-Based Examination is scheduled for May to June 2026. For graduate-level aspirants, this means the CGL cycle is set to begin early, leaving little room for delay in preparation.

general awareness. The SSC CHSL 2026 cycle will follow soon after. The revised calendar shows the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026 opening in April 2026, closing in May 2026, with the Tier-I CBE likely to be conducted from July to September 2026. This gives 12th-pass aspirants a clear window to organize subject-wise study plans, especially for General Intelligence, English, quantitative aptitude, and General Awareness.

a computer-based examination. For candidates targeting support staff and entry-level central government jobs, the SSC MTS & Havaldar Examination 2026 is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with the application deadline in July 2026. The official calendar lists the exam window as September to November 2026, and the mode of examination is Computer-Based Examination. This makes MTS one of the key second-half recruitment opportunities on the SSC calendar.

Meanwhile, candidates waiting for the constable recruitment cycle should note that the calendar lists Constable (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2027, with the application process beginning in September 2026 and closing in October 2026. The CBE for this cycle is tentatively scheduled for January to March 2027. SSC’s March 16 update on X also lists the GD application dates as 30 September 2026 to 31 October 2026.

The revised calendar matters because SSC exams often overlap with other major recruitment tests, and many aspirants prepare for multiple examinations at the same time. With CGL, CHSL, MTS, and GD now placed across different months, candidates can better split their preparation and avoid last-minute confusion. Those targeting graduate-level posts can focus first on CGL, while 12th-pass aspirants and MTS/GD applicants can plan their preparation in phases.

Candidates should also remember that the calendar only provides the broad schedule. Detailed notifications will later confirm eligibility, age limit, vacancy details, syllabus, application fee, correction window, and exam pattern. That is why aspirants should rely only on the official SSC portal for the final notification and application process instead of depending entirely on social media summaries or third-party posts.

In simple terms, the revised SSC Exam Calendar 2026-27 gives aspirants exactly what they need right now: direction. SSC CGL 2026 is expected to start from March 31, 2026; CHSL 2026 from April 30, 2026; MTS 2026 from June 30, 2026; and GD Constable 2027 from September 30, 2026, as highlighted in SSC’s March 16 update. For serious candidates, this is the right time to build a realistic study plan, watch the notification dates closely, and stay ready for the upcoming recruitment season
